Plate #385 Two Swallows (Bank Swallow and Violet-Green Swallow) from the 1826-38 Original Havell Edition of J.J. Audubon's Birds of America. Hand-colored copper-plate engraving with etching and aquatint. This print is a FULL SHEET measuring about 25-1/2" X 38." The plate mark (image matrix) measures about 19" X 15-3/4". Sheet has J. WHATMAN TURKEY MILL watermark dated 1837. Very good original hand-coloring. There is a 1/2" repaired tear at the lower left center margin edge. There is a tiny pinhole at the center left margin edge. There is a 1/4" paper loss from the upper left corner, otherwise this print is in EXCELLENT condition. $2750.00 plus $50.00 for packing materials and FLAT fully insured UPS shipping to the US.
